Nintendo Switch Online Gets Donkey Kong Land 2

There is no doubt about it, during the latter era of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System onwards throughout the Nintendo 64 lifespan, Rare were arguably Nintendo’s best none first party contributor.

Thanks to what seems to be a great relationship between Nintendo and Microsoft, the owners of Rare, we have witnessed a steady growth in the number of games developed by Rare released on the various Nintendo Switch Online retro console collections. The one franchise that really flourished under Rare was Donkey Kong, which was modernised and rebooted beginning with Donkey Kong Country late in the SNES life. Thanks to great gameplay, great music, great graphics and a clever marketing campaign, Nintendo managed to sell a lot of SNES consoles and games toboot.

Last week we saw the first in the Game Boy Donkey Kong Land games make its way onto the Nintendo Switch Online subscription service. Today we have received news that the second game in the series, Donkey Kong Land 2 will be also available on the subscription service.

We are hoping that we can expect to see the full extent of Donkey Kong games make their way onto the Nintendo Switch Online subscription service, as part of plans to market the latest themed area in the Super Nintendo World theme parks.
