Microsoft and LG Announce Xbox Cloud Gaming Coming to LG TVs

Microsoft has for the past few years been investing heavily into the Xbox cloud subscription service. The ultimate aim is to enable anyone the ability to play Xbox games on as many devices as possible, no matter where they are.

Just recently, Microsoft began rolling out the ability to stream a select few games from your purchased library in addition to the Xbox Game Pass subscription service. Over time it is hoped that all purchasable games will be available to stream. However, you’ll always need to be subscribed to Xbox Game Pass in order to stream games.

Things are progressing a little more as Microsoft and LG have revealed that the Xbox Cloud Gaming service will be coming to LG Smart TVs, beginning this year. There is no word on which TVs will be receiving this service but we would assume Microsoft will be trying to incorporate as many as possible to ensure the largest potential customer market.

Make no mistake, the future Microsoft is eyeing for their gaming division is to be more about playing games anywhere, anyhow rather than a focus on just consoles and PC. Also we have already seen Microsoft openly state that any first party title is on the table for potential porting to rival consoles such as the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. We already saw Sea of Thieves make the jump and the recently released Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is making its way over to the PlayStation 5 at some point early 2025.
