Another one of many rumours to spread across the internet is that another of the three key Xbox franchises is making the jump to rival systems. Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is a remaster of the first game in one of the biggest franchises Microsoft owns.
Originally released for the Xbox 360 on 7th November 2006, the first three Gears of War games were developed by Epic Games and published by Microsoft Game Studios. The remaster of the first Gears of War was developed by internally set up studio, The Coalition and published by Microsoft Studios for the Xbox One on 25th August 2015. It is the only game in the Xbox 360 trilogy to receive the remaster treatment to date.
If rumours are to be believed, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition will be coming to both PlayStation 5 and the Nintendo Switch successor console at some point in 2025.
