Croc: Legend of the Gobbos Delayed into 2025

Argonaut Software were known for two things more than anything. The first was designing the Super FX chip that is used in some SNES games, one of which was Star Fox, a game also designed by Argonaut Software. The second thing Argonaut Software is known for is Croc: Legend of the Gobbos.

Originally a tech demo by Argonaut Software  to showcase how a 3D Yoshi game would look in a 3D environment, after Nintendo turned down the opportunity to fund development into a full game, Argonaut Software went about retooling the tech demo into Croc: Legend of the Gobbos for the PlayStation, Sega Saturn and PC which was released on 26th September 1997.

In 2004 after twenty two years, Argonaut Software filed for bankruptcy. A number of employees ended up founding Rocksteady Games that would go onto the finish developing Urban Chaos: Riot Response after Argonaut Software went bankrupt and most famously Batman Arkham series of games.

A new incarnation of Argonaut Games was founded in 2024, though is now based in the United States and its first announcement was that of a remaster of Croc: Legend of the Gobbos. It was initially set to launch towards the end of 2024, however on 6th December 2024, it was revealed that Croc: Legend of the Gobbos will be delayed into 2025.

As things stand, there are still no hard release dates for Croc: Legend of the Gobbos but it will be releasing on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S as well as PC.
