There was once a time when there was a whole series of officially endorsed snooker games coming out first to the PC but then to consoles as well, at least here in the UK. However, after that particular developer went under due to poor sales of Hydrophobia, there hasn’t really been anything for the sport. This year that seems to be changing as Snooker ’19 will be launching not only on PC but also all three current generation consoles – PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
Snooker ’19 is being developed by Ripstone Games in collaboration with Lab42 in the UK. The timing of the release is perfectly suited to the fact it’s right before this year’s World Championship Snooker at the Crucible in Sheffield begin.
According to the press release, Snooker ’19 will have the license to all 128 snooker players that will be taking part in this year’s World Championship Snooker and will contain venues not just from the UK but also other countries across the world including China and Germany.
When it launches, Snooker ’19 will cost £29.99 on digital stores. This may well be a great game for those whom love snooker but perhaps not good enough at playing it for real but wish to try and become world champion.
