Although Sega has had many mini Sega Mega Drives released over the years with plenty of emulated games, because they were all created by AtGames we just don’t count them as anything more than expensive stress relief toys that your anger management therapist would supply you a hammer to destroy with.
However, today things look to be taking a real pleasant turn with Sega releasing it’s first console in two decades. That’s right, Sega are taking this whole thing in house with the announcement of the Sega Mega Drive Mini which will contain 40 games, all emulated by the amazing M2 developers, who are behind the Sega Ages games coming to the Nintendo Switch.
The Sega Mega Drive Mini will be releasing on 19th September 2019 so there is still a little wait. However, we do know the first 10 games coming to the little system and we assume Sega will be slowly announcing the rest in due course. The games coming to the Sega Mega Drive Mini are:
Sonic the Hedgehog
Ecco the Dolphin
Space Harrier 2
Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine
Toejam and Earl
We loom forward to seeing the rest of the line up whenever Sega decides to reveal them.
