Sega have today revealed that they will be releasing the latest mascot crossover, Sonic & Mario at the Tokyo Olympics this Winter for the Nintendo Switch. Not much has been shown off the game so far, though we are expecting to see further details and gameplay during Nintendo’s E3 Direct and perhaps even at the Treehouse broadcasts and on the show floor.
This latest entry in the series may well be the most fitting for the mascots from both Sega and Nintendo seeing as the Olympics will be taking place in their home land. Also, now that Nintendo has effectively got a single platform on the market for all their games, regardless of iterations, it will hopefully allow Sega to focus all their resources on making this the best game in the franchise yet.
This Winter, we look forward to finally whom is the best mascot of all time – Sonic the Hedgehog whom we assume will be impossible to beat during races, or Mario. That is, until the next game in the series comes along. Until then, the winner will be showered in all the riches while the loser shall be devoured by Godzilla!
